Project Description:

We are developing an AI-powered web application for Houston DPS that simplifies the vehicle title registration process for residents. It allows users to upload their Texas Driver’s License and Certificate of Title, automatically extracts key information using OCR, and pre-fills the official Forms. The system includes biometric authentication to verify identity and offers real-time guidance and tracking to ensure a smooth, error-free submission. Designed for accessibility and ease of use, the platform mitigates human error, saves time, and improves the overall experience for individuals navigating a traditionally complex vehicle registration process.

Project Challenge:

The vehicle title registration process at Houston DPS presents real challenges like multiple forms, manual data entry, and a confusing mix of online and paper steps that often lead to employee oversight, human errors, and extended processing time. For seniors, non-native English speakers, or those unfamiliar with government procedures, the process can feel overwhelming, putting undesired pressure on DPS staff, who must manage corrections and resubmissions. From a business perspective, this highlights a clear need and opportunity for an automated system that not only improves efficiency and accuracy but also makes the experience simpler, faster, and more accessible for all.
