ADVANCE YOUR CAREER - BECOME AN INDUSTRY 4.0 LEADER!

The Master of Engineering Management & Leadership (MEML) at Rice University is a professional, non-thesis master’s degree meant for technical professionals with engineering or related technical backgrounds. The MEML degree provides skilled engineers with the leadership and management training needed to become effective engineering managers, VPs of Engineering, Chief Technology Officers, and innovative leaders of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the emerging technology era known as Industry 4.0.

MEML Tracks
TWO TRACKS TO SUCCESS

The MEML program is offered online or on-campus, with full-time and part-time options.  Each track requires 30 credit hours of graduate level coursework, typically requiring 20-24 months to complete.  Students who have a BA or a BS degree in any field of engineering or related study may apply. Students must apply to either the online or on-campus program and will be explicitly admitted to one program or the other.

MEML Online courses are offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall academic terms, while MEML On-Campus courses are offered in the Spring and Fall terms.

INDUSTRY 4.0 - The Next Industrial Revolution

As new technologies merge the physical, biological, and digital worlds, a Fourth Industrial Revolution is dawning. As people, things, machines, and systems become interconnected, the technology industry will require engineers with both technical knowledge and important leadership skills. Together, the companies thriving in the Fourth Industrial Revolution are known as Industry 4.0 (I4). Industry 4.0 engineering manager leaders will need experience in ethical and data-driven decision-making, data science, engineering project management, product lifecycle and team management, engineering economics and applying technical skills to business model development.

"The MEML@Rice degree is designed to train engineering managers not for where most industries currently are, but where all of them who will thrive in Industry 4.0 must go."
